CHALLENGE

Modern, Reliable, Transparent

Current Commodities Systems or CCS main service to their clients is Private Label for food commodities. They pride themselves on their high standard of service and reliability provided to their clients. CCS is always working with high volume order clients in a evolving world that is beginning to value transparency in sourcing and manufacturing. To be on the cutting-edge of business, CCS needed a sleek and modern facelift to their Brand.

During our discovery meeting, packaging concerns were at the top of our list. Knowing that CCS is providing packaging solutions to their clients, they wanted a range of their own branded packaging to show to clients as samples of their services. I have to create an identity system that was versatile, infinitely adaptable, and visually striking.

APPROACH

Creating a Modular and Adaptable Identity System

During our discovery meeting, I record and highlight recurring key words and concepts. The client and I work together to filter and emphasize the key words that align with the company's core values and build my visual research based on those key words.

Based on the client's needs for adaptability and versatility for branded packaging, I knew I had to create a robust and versatile visual system. I started collecting visual references that fit the criteria of clean, modern, and visually systematic.

CCS aimed for a look that is modern, clean, and sleek whilst highlighting the underlying warmth of their service, reliability, and trust. After considerable research and collecting visual references based on our discovery session, I began to iterate on multiple logos and type systems for CCS.
